This specialist training is for practitioners working in perinatal mental health, therapy, and support services who want to deepen their understanding of neurodivergence across fertility, pregnancy, labour and birth, early parenthood, and the earliest days of bonding with a baby. Each of these stages can carry particular sensory, emotional and relational demands, and neurodivergent traits can shape the experience in ways that are often missed or misread in standard care.
We'll explore how those traits interact with the perinatal journey — the genuine challenges that can emerge, but also the real strengths neurodivergent parents bring — and share practical strategies for offering more inclusive, sensitive psychological support. Whether you're new to this intersection or already working in the field, you'll leave with insights and tools you can apply directly in your practice.
Led by Dr Siobhan Higgins, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Parent-Infant Psychotherapist, alongside Dr Jo Mueller, Clinical Psychologist. Both bring specialist clinical experience supporting neurodivergent women, birthing people and their families through pregnancy and early parenthood.
As with all our training, the session is neuroinclusive by design, with adjustments in place for neurodivergent practitioners attending.
This is a 2.5 hour recorded training webinar for practitioners, recorded live on 18th September 2025.
