Adapting Therapy for Neurodivergent Adults Training

£69.99

Do you ever sense that some of your neurodivergent clients aren't getting what they need from therapy — even when you're doing everything "right" by the models you were trained in?

This training is for therapists and mental health professionals who want to work more neuroinclusively and neuroaffirmatively, and who recognise that traditional therapeutic approaches often need thoughtful adaptation to genuinely serve neurodivergent clients. It's been co-produced with Maria, Lorna and Felix — neurodivergent members of our Neurodivergent Parent Space community — and draws on extensive clinical experience alongside up-to-date research in the field.

We'll start with a grounding in neurodiversity, then move into what the ND community themselves say about their experiences of therapy, including where it's fallen short. From there, we'll look at how to formulate distress through the lens of the neurodivergent experience, and introduce ACCEPTED — a practical model for adapting your therapeutic work — followed by time for your questions.

Led by Dr Lauren Breese, Clinical Psychologist, who has spent over fourteen years working in the NHS, including in the National and Specialist Adult Autism and ADHD Psychological Therapy Team, and now works primarily in private practice specialising with neurodivergent people of all ages. She has taught at the Royal College of Psychiatry, Royal College of Paediatrics, and ACAMH, and trained professionals at the IoPPN, KCL, Newcastle, and The School of Life.

This is a space to sharpen your practice, take away tools you can use in your very next session, and connect with the growing community of practitioners committed to doing this work well.

This is a 2.5 hour training webinar for practitioners, recorded live on 4th February 2025.
